sometimes, life asks us to hit reset.
i call it the great reset - the ego, the dark night of the soul, the moment that shakes everything familiar. nobody gets through life without experiencing these moments. it’s the start of healing, of noticing the patterns, beliefs, and thoughts that no longer serve us, and shifting them.
“there has to be a reset. a moment or moments of pivot. something that shifts within. something that changes your life. something that puts you on your desired path, even though that path may not feel desired in the moment. these moments become the foundation of a new chapter.”
these moments are uncomfortable. often, they feel like hovering over rock bottom, stuck between wanting more and not knowing what that more even looks like. we hover in fear, scarcity, and unworthiness, because the ego clings to what’s familiar. it feels safer than falling.
how exhausting is it, really, to always be waiting for the fall?
to wonder, is this it? is this the moment?
and it never quite is.
the hovering drains us, keeps us trapped in anticipation, in a loop of almosts and not-quites.
eventually, the weight of hovering pushes us to let go. to finally release control and allow the fall. and this is where transformation begins.
“when we let go… we allow ourselves the space to become. we allow ourselves the space to rise. and we are in control of that.”
hitting rock bottom isn’t about surrendering your power - it’s about taking it back. it’s the place where you can decide which parts of yourself rise, and which patterns, thoughts, or beliefs stay behind.
in a meditation once, i saw myself curled in the fetal position, overwhelmed by the brightness of my own light. it was too much - too intense, too unfamiliar.
“it’s okay that that light is too bright. we’re not used to it. we’re not used to our own light.”
so i carried it in my heart, letting it shine outward without blinding me.
that’s the gift of the great reset - learning to hold your light without fear, without shrinking, without hiding.
the light you create in these moments isn’t just illumination - it’s guidance. it’s the proof that even after hitting rock bottom, you get to rise, rebuild, and move forward as the author, the storyteller of your life.
the hovering stops when we surrender. the fall happens, and from it, we rise. we decide what parts of ourselves come along, what beliefs get left behind, and how our light will shine in the world.
find your light. carry it with you in whatever way feels good for you, and rise.
the great reset is more than a moment of discomfort. it’s a new foundation. a chance to take the pen, rewrite the narrative, and step fully into the life you’re capable of living.
